I'm going to begin posting the reviews for the books that were great next week.

Here are some great books that have been banned:

Ulysses. Then again, anything by Joyce rocks.

Lysistrata is a lot of fun. It's a play about when all the men go to war and the women fight back by withholding sex.

Canterbury Tales is long, but well worth the read. I think most of us read the Lady from Bath in high school.

Leaves of Grass is stunning.

Frankenstein is fun, if you're into the gothic novel. His story is tragic and beautiful, although the language gets a little stuffy.

Read The Bible and The Quran together. Throw the Pentauch in for good measure.

Read Origin of the Species. Do it in sync with Genesis.

Merchant of Venice. It's a good play, regardless of its lack of political correctness. Shylock is a bad guy and would be, no matter what his religion.

Also banned, but not online, but well worth reading:

1984. Animal Farm. Go Ask Alice. Cinderella. All I can think of from the top of my head--this comment is getting long.Brandi.https://www.blogger.com/profile/01901576351975142511noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7080717.post-1110995978891188702005-03-16T11:59:00.000-06:002005-03-16T11:59:00.000-06:00Greetings! Hope the contest went well. And that ...Greetings! Hope the contest went well. And that you still have posession of your eyesight.

Personally, I'm lucky to read a book a month. Let alone a week. I'm interested to check out the 'banned books list', though. Let me know if you have any recommendations.David M Maxwellhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02640951119435758397noreply@blogger.com
